How to add additional information in the organisational chart like DOJ, Years of experience, etc

Hi @vinod

To get started, follow these steps:

  • Activate the Org Chart Shape Library by clicking the '+ Shapes' button on the left side of your workspace and ensuring the 'Org Charts' library is selected.
  • Add custom fields to your org chart by double-clicking on a shape to open the context panel, navigating to the 'Data' tab, and clicking 'Add Field'. This will allow you to create custom fields such as 'Date of Joining' (DOJ) and 'Years of Experience'.
  • Enter the desired field names and values for each employee in the custom fields you've created.

HI there, is this functionality restricted to the PC, as I don’t see the + symbol in employee fields when I try to add a custom field in? Currently our company uses Macs

Hi @Stone0383, thanks for your post!

In order to add custom data to employees in your Org Chart, please Click on the employee shape > Click on Data in the Contextual Panel on the right > Scroll down to Custom Data and click on “+”, as such:

You can then proceed by adding multiple Data rows if you wish by clicking on “+” again. Could you please let me know if this helps?

Cheers!

Thank you! I just got this to work. Given i’m adding in lots of contacts a day to various org charts, is there any way to have this custom data saved at the org level, as i’d need the field as default for all the people I add to the chart? It seems at the moment i’d need to individually add it on every single contact

Hi @Stone0383, thank you for following up!

Indeed, if you originally created your org chart manually, you need to make manual updates to both the structure of your org chart and employee data. A workaround here would be to initially import existing org chart data, as per these steps of our Help Center article on Org charts: A guide from start to finish.

Hope this helps!
